Everyone keeps telling you... Social media has become essential for communicating with your prospects and customers, recruiting, and promoting your business.

So you too have ventured into social media, choosing LinkedIn, the leading B2B platform, for its strong appeal to the industrial market.

And you were right! LinkedIn is an excellent way to increase visibility while maintaining strong ties with employees and partners, even in the industrial sector.

But do you really know LinkedIn? Are you putting the right tips into practice to optimize your use of the network?

An overview of LinkedIn's importance in the industry and essential tips and tricks you need to know!

The basic rules for success on LinkedIn

Presenting yourself well/being clearly identified: the first essential step

Do you have a LinkedIn page and want to understand how to optimize it for maximum performance?

Don't move, you're in the right place!

First, whether you are using your LinkedIn profile or a company page, you must have completed the creation steps and filled in all the sections.

Let's focus on your company page: it should feature your logo as the profile picture, an attractive visual banner, and a comprehensive description of your company, your expertise, your strategic areas of activity, and any other information that may be of interest to your prospects.

Once your profile is complete, you will need to follow LinkedIn's golden rule: post regularly. We recommend posting twice a week, for example, every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. If you only post occasionally, the LinkedIn algorithm will not favor you and your posts will not be highlighted.

Publishing regularly also meanspreparing value-added content. Posts such as "we are hiring" or "our products are super cool" should be strictly avoided in favor of producing truly expert content. But we'll talk about that in a moment (for those who are curious, it's in the second part :))!

But why do all that?

First, thanks to a well-established LinkedIn strategy, you will be able to gain widespread visibility without necessarily spending money on an overly complex communication strategy, which may nevertheless be relevant in some cases. LinkedIn's algorithms will allow you to appear on the feeds ( the LinkedIn home page) of people interested in your business, and therefore potentially your prospects, who will be able to contact you directly via private messages.

Furthermore, using LinkedIn has real benefits for your human resources department, as the tool helps promote your employer brand and facilitates recruitment. In industry specifically, we know how difficult it can be to attract young talent... With LinkedIn, you can win them over with tailored content!

LinkedIn is an integral part of your web marketing strategy . You should give it as much importance as your website, because this network will also enable you to generate conversions and turn your prospects into qualified leads.

LinkedIn tips you shouldn't miss

So you don't forget anything, we answer your most frequently asked questions, and the answers will help you become LinkedIn kings! 🙂

1- “I don’t know when to post to get a lot of views…”

Here is a recap of the best moments to maximize engagement on your posts:

👉 Monday: between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.,

👉 Tuesday: between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.,

👉 Wednesday: between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.,

👉 Thursday: between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.,

👉 Friday: between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

2- “What is most relevant, likes? Shares? Comments…?”

👉 One like = one additional view.

👉 Clicking on "See more" = 4 additional views,

👉 One share = 7 more views,

👉 One comment = 12 more views.

These few ratios clearly show that shares and comments have a major impact on your posts: so don't hesitate to share (or even repost, for the lazy ones among you 🙂 ) and comment to boost the visibility of your posts.

3- “What are the key points to be aware of?”

Be aware that LinkedIn algorithms do not always work in your favor and will penalize your visibility if you do not follow certain rules, namely:

✅Use hashtags to associate your post with certain themes, limiting yourself to a maximum of 10.

✅Use tags in your posts, with "@," to name clients/partners/sources, limiting yourself to 15 people or companies.

✅Include emojis to make your post more appealing, limiting yourself to about ten per post.

✅Do not paste links in posts; instead, add them as comments, as LinkedIn does not appreciate you encouraging visitors to leave the network.

4- "What should I post so that my post gets seen?"

Here are the different formats available for a post:

📋Posts with documents: 2.2 to 3.4 times greater reach

📋Surveys: 2.1 to 2.9 times greater reach,

📋Carousels: 1.8 to 2.3 times greater reach,

📋Text and multiple images: 1.2 to 1.6 times greater reach

In summary, publishing value-added content such as expert opinions, testimonials, case studies, white papers, etc.will be much more beneficial to you, because in addition toimproving your visibility, you will be recognized as an expert in your field, which will also help improve your credibility with your prospects and customers.

5- “Should my profile be private, or should I adopt the creator mode provided by LinkedIn?”

The creator mode available on your profile allows you to be "public" on LinkedIn. It can have a real impact on the reach of your posts, allowing you to:

✅Increase the reach of your posts by 15 to 35% on average,

✅Gain more followers than you would have connections, depending on how often you post: for 1 to 2 posts per week, you'll see a 3x increase in followers; for 3 to 4 posts per week, a 5x increase in followers.

To get even more out of LinkedIn, you will also need to engage in employee advocacy and social selling...but we'll talk about that in a future article!
